Acne Scaring
Acne scars occur as the body begins to repair damaged tissue. It is a common condition as over 20% of people who suffer from acne may suffer from scarring. The type of scarring that occurs depends on the skin's response to the breakout. During an acne breakout the acne pore becomes inflamed and damages the wall of the pore. If the contents of the pore enter the surrounding tissue deeper scars may occur.
The skin's natural response is to repair the damage by producing collagen. If too much collagen is produced raised scars are formed, however if there is a loss of tissue pits and indentations appear. Acne scarring does not have to affect your confidence and most scarring can be easily treated.
